Notice & Conditions of Race

ADDENDUM #1

Part 2   Rules and Conditions

3   OTHER RULES & REQUIREMENTS

3.5 (amended) "IRC crew weight and limitations (IRC Rule 27.4.3):  For the big-boat IRC class (1.250 or greater), the maximum total number of crew shall not exceed the Crew Number printed on the boat's IRC certificate. IRC Crew Number Limitations may be subject to protest. Boats shall sail with the same crew in all races, unless crew change is approved by the Race Chairman. Any request for changes in crew or crew numbers must be submitted to the Race Office in writing prior to the race in which the change is to take place.”

For all other boats racing under either IRC or PHRF, the PHRF crew weight limitations specified in the 2006 PHRF Rules & Regulations VI. 4 and on page 22 of the Official Notice & Conditions of Race shall apply.

Clarification:

Based on entries to date, there are sufficient entries for a ‘big boat IRC Class’. For this class we have changed crew limitations from “crew weight” to “number of crew” in accordance with IRC Rule 27.4.3.

Based on handicap entries to date, it is currently unclear whether there will be sufficient entries for another stand alone IRC class or classes. However, there will likely be enough boats for an ‘IRC sub class’ within a larger PHRF class in which case Premiere Racing will score the sub class under IRC and provide sub class trophies. Boat owners need clarification now on crew limits in order to make their crew selection and finalize race week planning. Therefore, except for boats in the big-boat IRC class which will use the crew number printed on their IRC certificate, Premiere Racing will use the established PHRF crew weight limits for all other handicap boats, regardless of whether they race under the PHRF or IRC Rule.

ADDENDUM #1

 Part 2

10.2  The Start (Division 1 and 3 only)

10.2.4 (amended) RRS 30.1 Round-an-End Rule will be in effect for the Swan 45, Farr 40, Melges 24, and J/105 Classes. Boats subject to this rule shall sail to the pre-start side of the line around either end, or around the mid-line boat, leaving it to port as if it were the port end of the starting line, before starting. This modifies RRS 30.1. (See diagram).

    Clarification:

10.2.4 is amended, deleting “J/80”. SI 10.2.4 will not apply to the J/80 Class.

ADDENDUM #2

The Corsair 28R class, racing on Division 4, will use the Leeward Gate and

not a separate Leeward Mark, requiring the following addendums:

Part 2

8  COURSES

8.3  Leeward Mark, Gate, Windward Offset Mark

8.3.1 (amended) For all classes a leeward gate (two marks) will be used. The gate will be located approximately 600 feet to windward of the starting line. Boats shall sail between the gate marks from the direction of the previous mark and round either gate mark. If one of the leeward gate marks is missing, boats shall round the one existing leeward mark to port.

8.3.2 (deleted)

8.3.3 re-numbered 8.3.2

9  MARKS

9.1  (amended) Marks 1, 2S and 2P will be orange inflatable tetrahedrons.

12     CHANGE OF THE POSITION OF THE NEXT MARK

12.1.1 (amended) A signal board with the letters for the classes for which the change of course applies will be used. If the change is for the windward leg, the new mark will be a yellow inflatable tetrahedron for the first change unless the first change is for the final leg. When subsequent changes of course are signaled, the yellow and orange marks will be alternated. If the change is for a leeward leg, the original gate marks will be moved into the new position, unless the change is for the final leg.

    13      THE FINISH

13.4 (amended) When the course is shortened at a leeward gate, the race committee boat near the gate will display Flag S and boats shall finish by sailing through the gate from the direction of the previous mark.
