Acura Key West 2007 -  Notice and Conditions of Race

January 15-19, 2007

Key West, Florida USA 

Acura Key West 2007 is an international regatta that will provide both individual and team competition. This event will be organized and conducted by Premiere Racing, Inc., which will have the authority to reject or rescind the entry of any boat before the start of the first race. An International Jury will interpret the rules and conditions of the race and decide any protests. The fleet will be divided into divisions and classes at the discretion of the Race Committee.

Part 1 of this Notice deals with general administrative information and Part 2 with the Rules and Conditions of Race Week.

It is my pleasure to invite you to the twentieth year celebration of race week – Acura Key West 2007. Every January, the racing paradise we know as Key West beckons sailors from around the world and Premiere Racing is honored to be able to offer you all another week of unparalleled competition and shoreside fun. We hope that this special edition of race week is on your racing calendar.

During the past six years, an average of over 300 boat owners have brought their boats and crews to Key West, Florida, an ideal sailing venue famous for its reliable breezes and warm, azure waters. If you’ve raced with us in the past, you know that the competition, camaraderie, and race management are unsurpassed. If you are contemplating making the trip for the very first time, please know that we will do our utmost to make it an exceptional week for you.

Anticipation builds once more as one design, PHRF and IRC fleets will again feature world championship caliber racing on four separate divisions. We are excited to announce that the first ever PHRF National Championship will be contested in Key West next January.

Part 2 Rules and Conditions

1   MANAGEMENT 

Premiere Racing is the Organizing Authority for Acura Key West 2007, the 20^th annual race week at Key West.

2   RULES

2.1 The regatta will be governed by the current rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008, the 2006 IRC Rules, the PHRF Rules and Regulations as adopted and amended by the Key West PHRF Consortium, and the 2007 Key West Safety Requirements (to be posted shortly).
