"CATEGORY C" ADVERTISING

Premiere Racing will re-implement a fee for advertising on racing sail boats at Acura Key West 2007. We had done so in previous years until ISAF took that right away from event organizers. ISAF has since revised their position and event organizers can again charge a fee for entrants that advertise on their hull, sails or boom.   

If a company wishes to display advertising on a boat in order to benefit from the opportunities that the event presents, it is appropriate and reasonable that a contribution should be made towards the running of the regatta that they will be advertising at.  

Official event sponsors pay for the right to be visibly associated with the event, and they pay significantly more than the advertising fee to be collected from those entries that advertise. 

If your boat is displaying advertising, but you determine that your particular arrangement is not cost justified, then you should remove the advertising prior to the start of the first race.

The advertising fee is equal to the entry fee and is payable at the time of entry, as stated in the Notice of Race (full text below). Any advertising must be in accordance with the current Racing Rules of Sailing.  

We ask that competitors respect the brand exclusivity of the Official Sponsors of this event (displayed on the main page of the event web site). Their participation enhances the event for all competitors.

Acura Key West 2007 - Notice and Conditions of Race

4   ADVERTISING 

4.1 Those One Design classes that have chosen to race under Category A will sail under Category A for this regatta. Those One Design classes that have chosen to race under Category C and those boats sailing under the handicap rules (PHRF & IRC), will sail under Category C. Boats that intend to display advertising in accordance with Category C must so indicate on their entry form and pay the advertising fee for this category (equal to the entry fee). Class or boat manufacturer names and logos on sails and hulls will not be considered Category C advertising and no additional fee will be required. Competitors are requested to respect the brand exclusivity of the Official Sponsors of this event. Their participation enhances the event for all competitors.
